Walaupun tidak dikenal dengan nama semur karena ini hanya istilah yang saya gunakan untuk mendeskripsikan masakan ini, namun makanan ala Korea yang bernama bulgogi ini memang memiliki penampilan dan cita rasa yang 'hampir' mirip dengan semur. Bedanya bulgogi tidak semanis semur dan ciri khas utamanya adalah pada taburan wijen panggang yang menyelimuti permukaan daging sapi berbumbu yang tidak kita temukan pada semur. Selain itu bumbu bulgogi sangat sederhana dan menggunakan kecap asin dan minyak wijen yang jarang digunakan di masakan Indonesia. Bagi anda yang tidak terbiasa dengan rasa minyak wijen yang sedikit unik mungkin akan mengernyitkan kening saat potongan daging pertama memasuki mulut dan berkomentar, "Hmm, ada rasa-rasa yang aneh nih di bumbunya". Yep! Itu komentar yang pertama kali dilontarkan Tedy, adik saya, begitu menyantap bulgogi kali pertama, namun setelahnya yang terdengar hanya kata "Sedap"! ^_^

Tahun baru kali ini sebagaimana dengan tahun baru yang telah lalu, saya habiskan dengan berkutat di dapur rumah Pete. Kepala saya telah penuh dengan aneka macam rencana jenis makanan yang akan dimasak yang telah saya susun sejak tiga hari yang lalu. Seharusnya saya telah mulai untuk membuatnya sejak hari Jumat kemarin karena saya bermaksud untuk membawanya ketika hari Sabtu berkunjung ke rumah teman di Bojonggede. Namun apa mau dikata, Jumat malam hujan mengguyur deras kota Jakarta saat kaki saya melangkah keluar dari kantor. Terpaksa saya pun berputar-putar sejenak di Mall Ambasador membuang waktu dan membuat kaki pegal, hujan baru reda di pukul setengah tujuh malam. Takjubnya, kondisi jalan di Dr. Satrio cukup lengang sehingga kendaraan bersliweran dengan lancar termasuk taksi dan angkot. Kali ini saya tidak melirik mereka sekalipun karena masih dengan semangat empat lima saya berjalan kaki menelurusi jalan setapak yang tidak rata, genangan air dan lumpur menuju jalan Jendral Sudirman. Hmm, trek ini sepertinya semakin terasa mudah dan jaraknya terasa kian dekat dari hari ke hari. Kurang menantang! ^_^
